Geography
Vietnam is a South Asian country located in the east of the Indochinese Peninsula. It consists of three large regions, Tonkin in the north, Annam in the centre and Cochinchina in the south.
Climate
Vietnam's climate is tropical in the south and humid subtropical with monsoons in the north. The dry season runs from November to April in the south of the country and from February to August in the centre.
Population
Vietnam is home to nearly 91 million inhabitants, many of whom fall into various ethnic groups such as Viet, Khmer, Cham and Hoa.

The official language of Vietnam is Vietnamese. However, as there are six different tones in the Vietnamese language, it is possible that pronouncing a word in a certain way may vary its meaning from region to region.
